Morgan Advanced Materials showcases innovative materials that promote energy efficiency and extend component life at Power-Gen International 2013

07/11/2013

Experienced engineers will be on hand to provide a general overview of capabilities, demonstrate products on display, or provide private consultations regarding custom solutions for specific problems or applications.

The Group’s Technical Ceramics business will be highlighting products that are used for performance efficiency, low cost, and product improvement for the photovoltaic market and other high temperature monitoring processes. Products include fused silica rollers, thermocouple tubes and insulators, and a variety of other ceramic products, including alumina and Mullite. Also to be highlighted are injection-molded ceramics engineered for investment casting applications, including equiax, DS and single crystal, airfoil and IGT cores, and aircraft and general hardware cores produced under the Group’s Certech brand.

The Seals and Bearings business will be showcasing products used in critical components of a range of power generation applications, from seal components for coal powered plant turbines, to large bearings in nuclear power plant cooling water pumps that support pumps in all types of generation facilities.

Thermal Ceramics will be highlighting products that promote energy conservation and operational efficiency in the power generation and general maintenance markets, including materials designed for new boilers, revamping existing boilers, or treating hot spots. On display will be a range of Superwool® Plus fiber products, ideal for furnace lining insulation in both the power and nuclear markets. Of special interest is Superwool® Plus blanket, a low bio-persistent fiber that offers lower thermal conductivity, enabling thinner linings that result in significant weight and energy savings.
