The health, safety and well-being of our employees as well as the safety of our customers and communities remains our absolute priority. As a result of the pandemic, we have implemented a range of measures at all our facilities including physical changes to layout and people flow, social distancing, requirements for additional protective equipment, and additional hygiene, cleaning and disinfection protocols.
I am very proud of the way our employees have responded throughout the crisis, they have shown great professionalism and commitment, adjusting quickly to new ways of working.
We continue to work hard to respond to these unprecedented circumstances and actively manage the ongoing risks, in line with guidance from the World Health Organisation (alongside national and regional government regulations).

The Covid-19 pandemic has led to significant challenges across the world. We continue to work hard to respond to these unprecedented circumstances and actively manage the ongoing risks to our people, our operations and our customers, in line with guidance from the World Health Organisation (alongside national and regional government regulations).
We reduced activity and closed sites in geographies where this was required. This included the closure of sites in China, Italy, India, South Africa and Mexico for a period of time. Our plants have now re-opened, however we may experience future plant closures where local outbreaks are identified and government lockdown restrictions are implemented. The health, safety and well-being of our employees remains our absolute priority. We have introduced heightened safety measures such as social distancing and hygiene measures in all of our plants to ensure the safety of our employees.
I am extremely proud of the way our people have responded during this crisis, changing our ways of working to keep everyone safe while looking after our customers. Despite all the challenges we have continued supplying our products to key customers operating in essential sectors (such as in the healthcare and power generation industries) during the pandemic, thereby supporting the UN sustainable development goals. This has been a tremendous effort and I want to thank all of our employees for their support.

The Covid-19 pandemic continues to affect daily life across the world. As an organisation, our priority is to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our employees, whilst also supporting critical business infrastructure (including healthcare, power generation and food production).
Our approach centres on following guidance from the World Health Organisation in addition to national and regional governments. This ensures that we continue to support our people and customers, in-line with safe and effective health and safety practises.
This is an unprecedented global situation and once again, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of our employees and customers for their support and patience during this difficult time.
23 March 2020
The Covid-19 pandemic is causing unprecedented disruption as governments seek to contain the spread of the virus while maintaining critical infrastructure and life-sustaining businesses.
We are monitoring the advice from the World Health Organisation, national and regional governments to ensure we are taking appropriate action. In each jurisdiction, we are using government guidance to understand whether to continue to operate our facilities and how best we can look after our people and support our customers.
Where there are restrictions on business activity, we are assessing whether our plants support critical infrastructure or life-sustaining businesses and are permitted by government to continue to operate (fully or partially). Our priority is to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our employees while also supporting government goals of maintaining critical business activities such as healthcare, power generation and food production.
Where our facilities remain open, we are taking a range of measures to protect the health of our employees, including:
Since 6 March, we have also restricted travel of all our employees across all our sites. We will continue with all these measures until advised.
I would like to thank all of our employees and customers for your support during this challenging situation.
