Minimising our environmental impact
We are committed to minimising our impact on nature and using resources responsibly across our business. Within our operations, we focus on reducing water use, cutting waste and improving the efficiency of our processes.
As a manufacturer, we recognise that a significant part of our environmental footprint comes from the raw materials we source, which is why responsible sourcing is a key priority. We also take responsibility for the impact of our products beyond our factory gates, considering how the goods we produce affect the people that use them and the planet through their lifecycle.
The actions we're taking
Using water responsibly
We use water for cooling our operations, cleaning and sanitary facilities, and monitor consumption monthly across all sites. We have water reduction targets and conservation projects, with a particular focus on water-stressed regions. By 2030, we aim to reduce total water withdrawal, including in water-stressed areas, by 30%.
Minimising waste – reduce, reuse, recyle
We are committed to minimising waste generation and recycling as much as possible. Our operations create waste, which is always treated in line with local regulations. But beyond that we are committed to disposing of it responsibly and in a safe manner, working with specialist treatment companies.
Our current production recycling rate is at 90% per annum (based on 2025 numbers).
Through continuous improvement efforts we are reducing all hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams. Every year we set internal targets to reduce waste generation and increase recycling. This is achieved through activities such as Kaizen and 6S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain and Safety) which focus on improving quality and eliminating waste.
Reducing emissions to air
As well as greenhouse gases (GHGs) some of our operations produce other air emissions, including nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulphur oxides (SOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). These emissions arise when we burn fuels in our furnaces to generate heat and are also produced as byproducts in some of the chemical reactions that are involved when we make our products. All our permitted sites monitor these emissions to ensure that they comply with local regulations.
We don’t produce ozone-depleting substances (ODS) through our operations, however any small leaks of refrigerant gases are reported in our Scope 1 GHG emissions.
Responsible sourcing
Morgan's Responsible Sourcing programme aims to ensure suppliers operate ethically, respect human rights, comply with environmental and product compliance requirements, responsibly source raw materials, and support resilient, transparent supply chains. The programme is delivered through supplier due diligence, ESG screening via and external platform, supplier codes of conduct, conflict minerals management, and ongoing supplier engagement aligned with customer, regulatory and EcoVadis expectations.
Product stewardship
Product Stewardship is Morgan's process for ensuring that products are safe, compliant and responsibly managed throughout their lifecycle; from product development and manufacture through to customer use and end-of-life considerations. It combines toxicology, chemical regulatory compliance, risk assessment and product sustainability to protect customers, employees, the environment and the business.
Life Cycle Assessment
Product Life Cycle assessment (LCA) is an important way in which we can demonstrate how the environmental benefits of our products outweigh the impact of making them in the first place.
Our products are already providing benefits to our customers in reducing their environmental impacts and assisting them with their transition journey, but we are using our LCAs to guide our decision-making round decarbonisation choices and reduction in the use of scare materials in our operations and supply chain.

Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulations (PPWR)
From 12 August 2026, the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) will require all packaging placed on the EU market to meet enhanced sustainability and compliance standards, supported by a Certificate of Conformity.
What is Morgan doing: We are actively working with our suppliers to ensure that all packaging used by Morgan Advanced Materials complies with the relevant requirements set out in Articles 5–12 of the PPWR.
This means you can continue to source from us with confidence, knowing that our packaging will meet the latest EU environmental and safety standards.
